SHOCKING: Brazilian doctor killed 7 patients to free up hospital beds, police say
(CNN) — A Brazilian doctor appeared in court for allegedly killing seven patients to free up hospital beds in the southeast city of Curitiba.
Virginia Helena Soares de Souza recruited a group of doctors to help administer lethal doses of anesthetics, sedatives and painkillers, according to authorities.
In addition, the group allegedly altered oxygen levels for patients, leading to deaths by asphyxiation, police said.

As the fate of Prop 8 and the Defense of Marriage Act heads to the Supreme Court this week, many of Hollywood’s biggest and most influential names have come out in full support of marriage equality.
On that list: Beyonce Knowles, who late Tuesday evening one-upped everyone by posting this awesome photo on her Instagram.
“If you like it, you should be able to put a ring on it,” Knowles, 31, wrote, referencing her hit song, Single Ladies.
“We will unite 4 marriage equality!” She continued.
Prior to the post, Knowles also shared the marriage equality photo from the Human Rights Campaign, which has become very popular on Facebook.
Today, the Supreme Court will debate the constitutionality of the Defense Of Marriage Act, which in 1996 defined marriage as between a man and a woman only.

Sheraton Hotel Ikeja roof collapse
The advertising body of Nigeria were having a conference at the banquet hall of Sheraton hotel in Ikeja this afternoon when they noticed severe leaking in the roof. The attendees had to move to a separate part of the room, but less than a minute later, the roof caved in and guests had to rush out of the conference room out of fear…
The attendees complained that no management of Sheraton came out to apologise to the guests, that they were more concerned about guests not taking pictures but a LIBer managed to take a few and sent it in. See another photo after the cut…
