The state chapter of the party had
petitioned the Independent National Electoral Commission for
disenfranchising its candidate, Mr. Olawale Ojo, from participating in
the governorship poll.
But the national secretariat of the
party approached the tribunal and filed an application dissociating
itself from the petition.
The party asked the tribunal to strike
out the petition because it did not present any candidate for the poll,
which was won by Governor Olusegun Mimiko of the Labour Party.
When the case was mentioned last week
Tuesday, Messrs Olanrewaju Olaniyan, and Dr. Ajibola Falaye, appeared
again before the tribunal and introduced themselves separately to the
court as chairmen of the party in the state.
Olaniyan argued that he remained the authentic chairman, while Falaye said he was the acting-Chairman.
Obviously uncomfortable with the confusion again, the tribunal chairman ordered them out of the court.
